This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
A seminal 70s side from Miles Davis – originally a Japanese recording, and one that returns to the solid push of the initial electric years! The record's a completely cooking little session – one that mixes the raw, noisier styles of other Davis albums with a focus, funked-up energy ... LP, Vinyl record album
A wonderful 70s electric session from this Polish fusion luminary – soaring to the sky on some magical grooves! The album combines Urbaniak's work on electric violin and soprano sax with some really compelling vocals by Urszula Dudziak and killer keyboards by Wojciech Karolak, plus ... LP, Vinyl record album
Return To Forever Live – a vastly-extended exploration of this legendary 70s group at their best! The triple-length package offers the ensemble plenty of room to open things up – long tracks that stretch out with the boundless energy that Chick Corea first brought to the group, yet ... LP, Vinyl record album
A lost treasure from the overlooked late 70s jazz years at Columbia! The album's got Freddie Hubbard working with arranger Claus Ogerman on some expansive tracks that go beyond his earlier work in the decade – sometimes blowing mellow notes over larger orchestrations, other times working in ... LP, Vinyl record album
A pretty darn fantastic session that mixes the electric trumpet of Don Ellis with some great large arrangements that have a slightly funky feel! As with much of Ellis' work from the time, this one's driven by a large concept – but the overall sound is nice and fresh, thanks to some great ... LP, Vinyl record album
Weather Report at the height of their 70s fame – captured live in a double-length set, very much the practice for jazz superstars of the time! The format is familiar – but the liveness gives the album a slightly different feel than their studio sets – a sound that echoes out ... LP, Vinyl record album
A massive set of fusion from Mahavishnu Orchestra – a group that features some incredible guitar work from John McLaughlin, who sounds even more focused and driven here than on his own records! As with Return To Forever or Weather Report, the combo's a supergroup of sorts – with Billy ... LP, Vinyl record album
Sweet jazzy funk from Brazilian trumpeter Marcio Montarroyos – a laidback set of electric tunes that feels like some of Freddie Hubbard's best work from the 70s! There's a nice degree of space in the tracks, and Marcio takes things very leisurely – blowing with more than enough space ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of our favorite Ramsey Lewis albums ever – and a perfect summation of the genius that was brewing on the Chicago scene in the late 60s and early 70s! The album has Ramsey working strongly with Earth Wind & Fire – no surprise, given his close ties to Maurice White, who was the ... LP, Vinyl record album
Originally a Japanese-only session – and one of the best records ever by the great 70's group that featured Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Freddie Hubbard, Tony Williams, and Ron Carter. As with most of the group's Japanese recordings, this one is far better than the ones that got released ... LP, Vinyl record album
