Heavy beats and funky grooves from DJ Cam – recorded back in his more formative years, when his sound was rougher, and more "in the crates"! The album's got a great mix of open-ended samples and jazzy instrumentation – sounding almost like early Greyboy work, but without as much of the jazz solos. Disc 1 features the album Underground Vibes – an instant classic that's been out of print for years – and disc 2 features a live set from 1995. Titles include "Return Of The Jedi", "Sang Lien", "Underground Vibes", "Gangsta Sh*t", "Suckers Never Play That", "Meera", "Lost Kingdom", and "London 1995". (Out of print special silk-screened edition.)  © 1996-2018, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.

An excellent early album by funky guitarist Ronny Jordan! Back when everyone seemed to have lost their groove, Ronny emerged with a strong single-note style that reminded us a heck of a lot of Grant Green or Melvin Sparks. Versatile (France), 2015. Used
A spare, spacey record from this cool French trio – a group who's maybe more laidback than you'd guess from their explosive name – and who work here with lots of great electronics from Gilbert Cohen of Chateau Flight! The record's got a vibe that's almost like some of the best German ... CD

Smoove & Turrell might have kind of a hokey look on the cover, but they get right down to business on this funky little record – hitting a tight groove that's heavy on influence from both soul and AOR styles from the 70s and early 80s! The music's mostly upbeat and filled with riffing ... CD

Passion/Instinct, 1997. Used
A nice bit of smooth funky jazz – in the mode of some of the recent projects on the Expansion/Passion labels, grounded in a classic sensibility, but inflected with a more modern smooth jazz style of production. The sound is very late 70's/early 80's, and reminds us of the kind of jazz/R&B ... CD
