Used Vinyl Grades
Below are stated conditions for a used vinyl records at Dusty Groove. Grading for

these will be noted in the comments section of the item. However, please be aware that
since the emphasis of this site is towards the music listener, our main concern is with
the vinyl of any used item we sell. Additionally, please note that all of our records
are graded visually; considering the volume of used vinyl we handle, it is impossible

Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
An overlooked gem from trumpeter Harry Edison – small group material cut with Jimmy Forrest on tenor and Tommy Flanagan on piano! The tracks are short, but pack a lot of punch – and the main focus is on Edison's raspy tone and well-placed notes – nothing fancy, but great ... LP, Vinyl record album
Sure, it's Maynard – but he's got a pretty nice group on the record! Even at a young age, he surrounded himself with great talent – and the ensemble on this one features Slide Hampton, Don Sebesky, Willie Maiden, and Jimmie Ford – all strong players who make the record wail a lot ... Great stuff! This fantastic lost John Handy album for Roulette, like his others, stands as some of the finest unknown jazz of the 60s. These records are always (unfortunately) passed by in the racks, but don't make the same mistake! Handy's alto is honed to a razor sharp point, fresh from his ... LP, Vinyl record album
A great little set – despite our initial fears! We'll admit that we're the first ones to shy away from anything that says "Kansas City" in the title – as we expect a lot of hoke – but this album's a surprisingly great batch of tunes, original numbers written by Benny ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the few beautiful early albums cut by John Handy for Roulette – and an obscure session that has him playing alto with a quartet that includes a young Walter Bishop Jr. on piano. Handy here is fresh from his work with Mingus – and his alto is filled with fire and emotion, yet ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the lesser-remembered Basie sessions for Roulette – but one of the best ones too! The album follows nicely in the "dance" style of Basie's earlier albums for Clef – by offering a set of work that was typical of that the group might have performed on one of their more ... Groovy instrumentals from the great Dave Baby Cortez – all played with that tightness he brought to the organ in the 60s – a style of playing that paired down the modes the instrument had in jazz, and paved the way for countless others to help bring organ sounds to soul, rock, and other ... LP, Vinyl record album
Great stuff – and very very groovy! Cal cut this record for Verve during the height of his swinging 60s Latin years – and he's working here with arranger Chico O'Farrill, who at the time, was perfectly suited for Cal's short, jaunty approach to a groove! The album's filled with nice ... LP, Vinyl record album
From the title, to the cover, to the gritty grooves way down in the wax – this has got to be one of the funkiest Blue Note albums ever – a real landmark from the legendary Lou Donaldson! The set kicks off with a hard and heavy groove from the very first note – thanks to some ... LP, Vinyl record album
An amazing collaboration between Gary McFarland and Gabor Szabo – easily one of the grooviest albums either artist recorded in the 60s! The set's heavy on McFarland's great style of arranging – that cool blend of bossa, jazz, and other elements that surfaced strongly on his 60s Verve ... LP, Vinyl record album
