Seventh Dawn

LP (Item 512312) United Artists, Early 60s — Condition: Sealed

(Original pressing.)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Digitmovies (Italy), 1972. Sealed Gatefold
A great early 70s western score by Riz Ortolani! Una Ragione Per Vivere E Una Per Morire is crafted with a slightly different feel than usual for the time – almost more straight dramatic than the some of the seedier Italian western sounds of the period, with shimmering orchestral passages ... Inspector Clouseau
United Artists, 1968. Near Mint-
A great soundtrack for a pretty darn obscure film – the third appearance of Inspector Clouseau, filmed after A Shot In The Dark and The Pink Panther, but featuring Alan Arkin in the title role, instead of Peter Sellers! The score is by Ken Thorne, and is quite different from more familiar ... LP, Vinyl record album

This is sort of a compilation that features Michel Legrand's great scores for the films Thomas Crown Affair, Young Girls of Rochefort, La Piscine, and Play Dirty. We think that most of the stuff has been re-recorded for this album, but we're not sure. Whatever the case, this is a stellar album of ... LP, Vinyl record album

One of the greatest soundtracks ever – an archetypal album from French composer Francis Lai, and a record that set the tone for countless other imitations to come – yet which is still the best! United Artists, 1967. Near Mint-
A stunning soundtrack from the legendary Francis Lai – a record that got a fair bit of circulation at the time, as it was a follow up to his huge global hit, A Man & A Woman (aka Un Homme Et Une Femme)! The style here is equally great – a groovy sound that completely changed the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Andre Previn

Fortune Cookiese
United Artists, 1966. Very Good+
A pretty nice Andre Previn soundtrack for this late Billy Wilder film that starred Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau – plus the young Judi West, who sings a version of "You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To" on the album. The rest of the tracks are split pretty evenly between light jazzy ... LP, Vinyl record album

Smokey & The Bandit
MCA, 1977. Very Good-
A pretty southern-fried soundtrack – arranged and conducted by Bill Justis, with a few vocal numbers by Jerry Reed, and designed to accompany one of Burt Reynolds' darkest moments of the 70s!
