A hell of a tribe, and a hell of a great record too – a tremendous effort from this hip group of soulful Americans – a sextet that features Bobby Watson on alto sax, Jack Walrath on trumpet, Walter Bishop Jr on piano, Charles Fambrough on bass, Joe Chambers on drums, and Ray Mantilla on percussion! The album's got a very hip feel – the farther side of the soul jazz spectrum at the end of the 80s, and exactly the kind of groove the Red Records label was preserving more strongly than most US imprints at the time – captured beautifully here with the same depth of feeling you'd hear if you captured these players in one of their great live dates at the time. All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
