Aretha Franklin — 30 Greatest Hits ... CD 4.99
A huge amount of gems from the key Atlantic Records years of Aretha Franklin – titles that include "Call Me", "I Never Loved A Man", "Respect", "Chain Of Fools", "Do Right Woman", "Dr Feel Good", "Save Me", "Think", "Ain't No Way", "Share Your Love With Me", "The House That Jack Built", "Rock Steady", "Spanish Harlem", "Angel", "Until You Come Back To Me", "Day Dreaming", "Oh Me Oh My", and "Wholly Holy".  © 1996-2022, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover has one tiny corner bump, but looks fantastic overall!)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Aretha Franklin

Laughing On The Outside
Columbia, 1963. Very Good
Hey, we love this record! It's jazzy, and not at all like Aretha's soul sides for Atlantic – but Aretha's vocals sound wonderful on the record, in a completely different way than on later albums. Arrangements are by Robert Mersey, and they've got a feel that's similar to some of the classic ... LP, Vinyl record album

Let Me In Your Life
Atlantic, 1974. Very Good+
Aretha Franklin and electric piano – a really great combination that makes for a whole new level of soulfulness in the 70s! The album's one of Franklin's greatest of the decade – a deepening of the sound she first brought to Atlantic in the 60s, and a maturation of that groove – ... LP, Vinyl record album

Aretha Franklin

Soul '69
Atlantic, 1969. Near Mint-
'69 was certainly Aretha's year – as the success of her initial round of Atlantic recordings had pushed her fully into the limelight, making her one of the most exposed, most reported-on artists in soul music! This album was cut during the height of that time, with Arif Mardin handling all ... LP, Vinyl record album

Take A Look
Columbia, Mid 60s. Very Good+
One of the most deeply soulful of Aretha's Columbia albums – and a record that really has her opening up in a hard-hitting style! Some tracks still have a bit of a jazzy flourish, almost in a Gloria Lynne or Esther Phillips approach, but overall the whole album's got a style that prefaces ... LP, Vinyl record album

Prince Phillip Mitchell

Top Of The Line
Atlantic, 1979. Near Mint-
A classic set of smooth 70s soul from an under-recognized genius! Chic
Atlantic, 1977. Very Good+
Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah – classic work from Chic, and a great batch of choppy funky dancefloor tunes!
