Used CD Grade
We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs.
This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer
used CDs in the best possible condition.
When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the
lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves),
and the booklet to be in good shape.
Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or
defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs),
so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.
All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws.
After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine
that it plays correctly.
If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
Murray's fronting a big band led by Butch Morris – a group that sounds a lot better to our ears than most of Morris' own larger groups of the time, possibly because of the style of the recording. The tracks shift mood, tone, and approach with each number – working out references to ... CD

Easily one of the best M-Base related sessions for DIW from the early 90s – and certainly one that's the most free from the dated touches of the others! The real strength here is the strong saxophone work – done by Von Freeman on tenor, and both Steve Coleman and Greg Osby on alto ... CD
A great little session by Murray – recorded at that point in the early 90s when DIW was turning out some especially soulful records! The group on the set features Fred Hopkins on bass, McCoy Tyner on piano, and Elvin Jones on drums – and although you might expect a Coltraney feel from ... CD
The trio here is a great one – Mulgrew Miller on piano, Reggie Workman on bass, and Freddie Waits on drums – joined by some great alto from Oliver Lake! CD
A wonderful side of David Murray – his deep skills with a tenor ballad, heard here in a quartet with Dave Burrell on piano, Fred Hopkins on bass, and Ralph Peterson on drums! CD
Beautifully soulful work by David Murray – a mostly-straight session, but one that seems to push his level of expression even further than before! Murray's working here in a "deep river" style that seems to draw on decades of jazz influence, yet forge it into a fresh modern voice ... CD
A really beautiful pairing of horns – the flute of James Newton and tenor of David Murray – working here in a mix of lyrical modes and heavier spiritual avant styles! The rest of the group features John Hicks on piano, Fred Hopkins on bass, and either Andrew Cyrille or Billy Hart on ... CD
A solo piano performance recorded live at Pit Inn – titles include "Mt. Senba", "Hamp's Blues", "Jamaican Parrot – Little Question", "My Funny Valentine", and Duke Ellington's "It Don't Mean A Thing". CD
Simon Moullier plays vibes, balafon, percussion, and synths – with Dayna Stephens and Morgan Guerin on saxophone, Simon Chivallon and Isaac Wilson on piano, Luca Alemanno on bass, and Jongkuk Kim on drums. CD
Trumpeter Farnell Newton has been making music for a number of years – but he really seems to be taking off and finding his groove on recent albums for the Posi-Tone labels – records, like this one, that really have Newton demonstrating his strong ear for phrasing, and his ability to ... CD
