Incredible! This set is like finding a lost treasure chest filled with prime hip hop tracks from the late 80s and early 90s! Kenny Dope pulled together a huge batch of rare tracks tracks that you can never find on wax, and the folks at BBE packaged the huge 4LP set in a super heavy-duty box that looks very sharp. Despite the "mixed by" in the title, the tracks are all separate, and not mixed together. The set includes such classics as "She Fe MCs" by De La Soul & Tribe Called Quest, (from the Clear Lake Auditorium EP that was only available on promo until now), "Resurrection" by Common Sense (previously available on 12-inch only), "DWYCK" by Gang Starr and Nice & Smooth (up there as one of the best tracks by either group, and that's sayin' somethin'), "Fortified Live" by Mos Def, "Flava Of The Month" by Black Sheep, "Straight Out Of The Jungle" by Jungle Brothers, "The Rhythmologist" by Jamose, "Forsaken" by Breez Evahflowin', "Shining Star" by Sunz Of Man, "Everybody" by Basement Khemists, "You Gots To Chill" by EPMD, "Off The Books" by The Beatnuts & The Punisher, "Hard Rhymes" by The Wascals, "Hardcore Hip Hop" by Rawcotiks, "Uptown Anthem" by Naughty By Nature, and lots lots more! This 4 LP set features all the tracks in straight original mixes – and the 3CD set has the original tracks, plus a full CD of the tracks mixed live by Kenny. Both sets are amazing, and this motherlode of great stuff is Kenny's gift to the hip hop world! Incredible! (We thought we had to say it a second time.) © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Out of print. Slipcover has some shelf wear and a couple of light stains and one of the sleeves has a small center split in the spine.)
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.
When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.
All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.
