Nancy & Lee

LP (Item 5079) Reprise, Late 60s — Condition: Very Good-

Sweet moody stuff from the period when the duo of Ms. Sinatra and Mr. Hazelwood was electric in the studio. This was back when he used to call her "Nasty" through the headphones in the vocal booth, and when the two of them put out such spooky spooky material as "Some Velvet Morning", or their slowed-down version of "You've Lost that Lovin' Feelin'". (Orange & brown label stereo pressing. Cover has some wear.)  © 1996-2018, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good - (minus)

  • Vinyl may be dirty, and can lack a fair amount of luster.
  • Vinyl can have a number of marks, either in clusters or smaller amounts, but deeper.
  • This is the kind of record that you'd buy to play, but not because it looked that great. Still, the flaws should be mostly cosmetic, with nothing too deep that would ruin the overall record.
  • Examples include a record that has been kept for a while in a cover without the paper sleeve, or heavily played by a previous owner and has some marks across the surface. The record should play okay, though probably with surface noise.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

A beautiful little album that shows a whole new side of Sinatra! Frank's a bit late on the bossa game – but the record's a wonderfully gentle batch of bossa nova tunes, performed with musical and occasional vocal accompaniment by Jobim, and larger orchestral backings by Claus Ogerman. Goin's Great
Reprise, Late 60s. Very Good
One of the grooviest of Sammy's albums for Reprise during the 60s – cut with production by Jimmy Bowen and a nicely bouncy set of backings! There's a definite mixed bag approach to the material, but it's that non-unified quality that makes some of Sammy's best albums so great – as he'll ... LP, Vinyl record album

Reprise, 1966. Near Mint-
A great one from Sammy Davis Jr – one of his most upbeat, bouncy albums for Reprise – and definitely done with the sort of energy that earns the set the "show" in the title! The album was released in conjunction with Sammy's TV show on NBC in the mid 60s – and it's ... LP, Vinyl record album

A very cool package – one that has Frank Sinatra narrating his career in music – as he performs re-recorded versions of classics, with backings by Nelson Riddle, Johnny Mandel, Count Basie, Gordon Jenkins, Don Costa, and Billy May! One of the nice records made by Joe during his funky comeback of the late 60s/early 70s. Nice & Easy

Frank's last solid album for Capitol, and an easily swinging set that points the way towards the confident maturity of the Reprise years. This Is Sinatra Vol 2
Capitol, Late 50s. Very Good+
A great collection of Sinatra's non-LP material for Capitol in the 50s – done as a follow-up to the similar This Is Sinatra set!
