Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Get It On
Bright Orange, 1968. Very Good Gatefold
The long buried first album by Bay Area rock & soul combo Pacific Gas & Electric – cut for the Bright Orange label in 1968! PG&E cut some great little numbers in the late 60s & early 70s, and we're thinking they MUST have kicked some serious arse live – and there are ... LP, Vinyl record album

Dunhill, 1971. Very Good- Gatefold
One of the best solo records to come out of the wake of The Mamas & The Papas – a folksy effort from Denny Doherty, touched with elements of A&M country, in kind of an LA outlaw mode. Titles include "Hey Good Looking", "Watcha Gonna Do", "Neighbors", ... LP, Vinyl record album

Deliver
Dunhill, 1967. Very Good
Wonderfully dark harmonies from The Mamas & The Papas – one of those amazing late 60s albums from the group that was pop on the outside, but something very else underneath – a wonderful blend of modes that was hardly duplicated this well again! There's a slightly spooky feel to ... LP, Vinyl record album

Epic, Late 60s. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold
Some of the most heavenly pop ever recorded – and a wonderful 2LP collection of work from the later years of The Zombies! Something/Anything?
Bearsville, 1972. Very Good 2LP Gatefold
Arguably one of the greatest pop albums of all time – a pure act of genius from Todd Rundgren, and one of the few cases in rock music where two records are actually better than one! The double-length set was Rundgren's third solo effort after the breakup of Nazz – but it's a broad step ... LP, Vinyl record album

Dot, 1969. Very Good+
A definite criss-crossing of Detroit and Memphis modes – as the funky soul of Mitch Ryder gets some hip backings here from Booker T & The MGs! Mitch always had a lot of soul-charged energy in his best early work anyway – but here, he really puts it all on the table – ... LP, Vinyl record album
