Risque Rythum/122 House/That's The Beat/Jacking Zone

12-inch (Item 505946) Chicago Connection, 1986 — Condition: Very Good

(Original pressing.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Doobie-doo doobie-doo! One of the catchiest Roy Ayers dancefloor tracks ever – a bassy bumping thumper that wonderfully skirts the line between clubby and funky! Karen Young

Hot Shot (voc, inst)
West End, 1978. Near Mint-
Karen's big cut, the only one we'll remember her for, and a big campy track in its day. Served up here on an original West End single, with vocal and instrumental versions both stretching past the 8 minute mark. 12-inch, Vinyl record
Warner, 1984. Very Good (pic cover)
One of the most romping tunes ever recorded by Prince – the kind of cut that was an instant dancefloor stormer back in the day, and still sounds mighty groovy all these many years later! The song is featured here in it's very extended version – and is backed by the fantastic non-LP cut ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
Fuzz Dance (Italy), 1983. Very Good
An electro classic – and one of the best tunes to come out of that whole Italian disco scene! The single's got a nice midtempo popping beat, and it's pressed up in a cool format that has a much bigger label than a regular single. 12-inch, Vinyl record
Atlantic, 1979. Near Mint-
One of the blueprints of hip hop! At the time, Chic's "Good Times" just seemed like a wickedly funky pop tune – but who knew that that bass and guitar groove would inspire a whole generation of hip hoppers, bouncing along in a groove that was at once at home on the roller rink or ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

Early 90s Death Row g-funk from Snoop Doggy Dogg – not as cuddly as he became in later years, but as smooth as ever – as classic a slice of a sound and era as you'll find in west coast hip hop! 12-inch, Vinyl record
