Live At The Bottom Line

CD (Item 505600) CTI, 1979 — Condition: Used
$8.99 ...

CD

A live set from the great Patti Austin – but done at a level that's every bit as tight as her studio work from the time! Patti's in a perfect balance between jazz and soul here – and works with sweet arrangements from Dave Grusin and Leon Pendarvis – the latter of whom also leads the backing group on keyboards, and really makes the sound come out right! Things are never too full – the combo's relatively small, with additional keyboards from Pat Rebillot, plus tenor from Michael Brecker and guitar from David Spinozza – a tight group who really help Patti groove. Tracks include "You Fooled Me", "Jump For Joy", "Rider In The Rain", "Let's All Live & Give Together", "Love Me By Name", "One More Night", and "Let It Ride".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Out of print Columbia Jazz Masterpiece pressing.)

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Evelyn Champagne King

Flirt
EMI, 1988. Used
A flirty little record from Evelyn Champagne King – one that's got a very different groove than her disco-styled records in the 70s – one that's very firmly in the mid 80s modes that Manhattan Records were using with other singers at the time! Beats are bigger than before, but the ... CD

A massive batch of underground Detroit vocal groups from the tail end of the 50s, and on through the mid 60s – wonderful stuff that hardly saw the bright light of day that the big hit artists on the scene did, but hold up just as well toto an objective listen! There are a few recognizable ... CD
