A pretty darn nice CD – one that compiles tracks recorded by Fischer's big band in 1969, and which we almost passed up because of a silly-looking cover! The CD appears to include most of the material that appeared on Fischer's album Thesaurus for Atlantic, plus a wealth of additional tunes cut at the same time, with similar players – making for 15 tracks in all that perfectly capture his spacious approach to the material, and strong sense of a groove. Personnel includes Gary Foster, Bud Shank, Warne Marsh, Larry Bunker, Conte Candoli, James Zito, and Buddy Childers – and Fischer himself plays organ, acoustic piano, and a bit of electric piano as well! All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
