Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs. This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.

When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.

Children's Songs
ECM (Japan), 1984. Used

Chick Corea

Akoustic Band
GRP, 1989. Used
In the electric universe of the GRP label, Chick Corea makes a bold move with his Akoustic Band here – even if the overall conception of the cover and the group's fashions have kind of an "electric" 80s look to it! The group here is a trio – with John Patitucci on bass and ... CD

Steve Wilson

Generations
Stretch, 1998. Used
A great little record from Steve Wilson – one filled with joy, life, and an undeniable sense of soul! The album's more like some lost indie soul jazz date on a label like Muse from a decade or two before than the set you'd expect from this vintage – and Wilson's approach here is open, ... CD

Terumasa Hino/Masabumi Kikuchi

Edges (Japanese paper sleeve edition)
Sony (Japan), 2007. Used Gatefold
A brilliant follow-up to the 2007 quartet session cut by Japanese trumpeter Terumasa Hino and pianist Masabumi Kikuchi – one that has both players here coming together in spare duo formation, in a style that's even more stripped down than their Counter Current album! As with that one, this ... CD

Another Standard
Stretch, 1997. Used
Bob Berg on tenor & soprano saxophone, David Kikoski on piano, Ed Howard on bass, Gary Novak on drums, Randy Brecker on trumpet & flugelhirn & Mike Stern on guitar. CD

Wallace Roney

No Room For Argument
Stretch, 2000. Used
Darkly expressive work from Wallace Roney – one of those key albums that seems to push his original Muse Records sound even further with a range of more expansive elements! Roney's still got that brooding post-Miles sound in his horn – but here, it's used in some more complicated ... CD

Dave Brubeck Quartet

Dave Digs Disney
Sony, 1957. Used
Dave Digs Disney – and hence, so do we! The album's one of the first to ever pay tribute to the great compositions heard in Disney films – and it features the magical sound of the Brubeck Quartet, turned upon a host of familiar numbers, and transforming them into longer vehicles for ... CD
Sony (Japan), 1959. Used
What can we say? This is the ultimate Miles Davis album – the one that includes so many songs that we've heard way too much in Starbucks, in retail stores, or at a friend's house who claims to be a "jazz expert", but is really a yuppie dilettante. Yet somehow, over all the years, ... CD
Sony (Japan), 1963. Used
A wonderful live set from the Seven Steps-era Miles group – with rhythm by Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, and Tony Williams – and tunes that are all in that transformative mode that really showed Miles hitting a new voice at the time! Tenorist George Coleman's playing with the group on ... CD
Sony, 1999. Used
When Laswell first put out this Miles set, we didn't really know whether we'd be into it, though we're all for unearthing lost and unreleased Miles tapes. Then they went a step further and had these remixes cut. Surprisingly these versions breathed some new life into material that was still fresh ... CD
