✈
The great Free Designed Redesigned remix project from Light In The Attic – finally available on CD! The genius harmony pop of the late 60s' Free Design gets remade by a host of modern producers – with stunning results that create a whole new batch of tunes! The group's original music had a dreamy, innocent quality that one wouldn't expect to lend itself to remixing – but it does, and offers lots of space for additional beats, keys, and well-crafted loops! A wonderful batch – sequenced, edited and embelished by Ubuiquity Records maestro Nobody! 19 tracks in all: "Where Do I Go" feat Madlib, "Umbrellas" feat Peanut Butter Wolf, "Harve Dale Hix" feat Stereolab & High Llamas, "Don't Turn Away" feat Sharpshooters, "I Found Love" feat Styrophoam & Sarah Shannon, "Girls Alone" feaat Nobody & Ikey Owens of Mars Volta, "Don't Cry Baby" feat Koushik & Dudley Perkins, "To A Black Boy" feat Danger Mouse & Murs, "The Proper Ornaments" feat Super Furry Animals, "An Elegy" feat Kid Koala & Dynomide D and more!  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs. This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.

When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.

Lee Hazlewood

House Safe For Tigers
Light In The Attic, 1975. Used
One of the rarest Lee Hazlewood albums, and one of the coolest, too – the set falls a bit later than some of his other work on the Swedish scene – and, like Cowboy In Sweden, it's also a soundtrack too – but the vibe is different than that one, and almost shows this maturation of ... CD
Capitol, 1958. Used
The title certainly gets it right – as Dakota Staton is definitely dynamic on this one, but not in a way that's hokey or forced at all! Instead, the record nicely lifts Staton from some of the more laidback and bluesy modes of her other 50s records – into a fuller range of styles that ... CD
Capitol/DRG, 1959. Used
It's time to swing, but with a classy sound throughout – very much the best mix of modes Dakota Staton brought to her key early years at Capitol Records! Backings are by Sid Feller, and are pretty darn jazzy throughout – more so than some of Sid's other work of the time – a ... CD

Savoy (Japan), 1955. Used
A fantastic early album by the amazing Jimmy Scott – billed here as "Little Jimmy Scott" – because of his youth, height, and his style of singing! Jimmy's fragile voice is in perfect form here – a really unique blend between torch jazz modes and some of the bluesier ... CD

Frank Sinatra

Only The Lonely
Capitol, 1958. Used
