Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs. This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.

When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.

Richie Cole & Hank Crawford

Bossa International (with bonus track)
Milestone, 1987. Used
Twin alto frenzy from the team of Richie Cole and Hank Crawford – a set that has lots of the sharp edges that you'd expect from Cole's 70s classics on Muse! Not all of the material is bossa – although there are a few nice samba-styled groovers – as other cuts have the boppish ... CD
Milestone, 1980. Used 8 CDs
The final run of shows from Bill Evans, recorded at San Francisco's Keystone Korner just days before his passing. The group is a trio – with Marc Johnson on bass and Joe LaBarbera on drums – and together they work through a wide ranging set list of standards and originals by Evans. ... CD

Jim Snidero

Strings
Milestone/Savant, 2003. Used
A really fantastic record from reedman Jim Snidero – one that hints at its sound with the "strings" in the title – even though that's just a really tiny part of the overall picture! There's lots more going on here than just a saxophonist with strings – this isn't a ... CD

McCoy Tyner

Echoes Of A Friend
Milestone/OJC, 1972. Used
A haunting tribute to the late John Coltrane – not just a "friend" of McCoy Tyner, but a key musical partner back in the 60s! The album's a solo piano effort – extremely intimate, but still played with that long-flowing majesty we always love in McCoy – and two of the ... CD

Sonny Rollins

Reel Life
Milestone/OJC, 1982. Used
An overlooked Sonny Rollins set from the early 80s – one that has him recording with a fair bit of guitar, but still staying very much in his best form as an improviser! The group here features both Bobby Broom on electric guitar, and Yoshiaki Masuo on acoustic and electric – both ... CD
Milestone, 1948. Used
A 2LP collection of material originally recorded for radio on acetates, then transferred to tape in 1961 and released as 2 albums on the Jazzland label in the early 60s. The sides are noteworthy in that they offer some important early performances by Navarro – working with the Tadd Dameron ... CD
Milestone/Prestige, Mid 50s-Early 60s. Used
Two of Randy's Weston's earliest albums – both recorded in the mid 50s, and briefly (and rarely) issued on the Riverside label. The album's feature Weston playing in a very spare setting – as only 5 of the tracks feature a trio (with Art Blakey on drums and Sam Gill on bass), and ... CD
Milestone, 1974. Used
A well-recorded 1974 set, done for Canadian radio – with Eddie Gomez on bass and Marty Morell on drums! CD

Bill Evans & Stan Getz

But Beautiful
Milestone, 1974. Used
A great pairing – one who barely recorded together, but always made magic when they did! The vibe here is different than the Evans/Getz date on Verve in the mid 60s – partly because of the live setting, but maybe also because the group is Bill's – with Eddie Gomez on bass and ... CD
