Super Bowl Shuffle (vocal, ext vocal, inst)

12-inch (Item 501701) Red Label, 1985 — Condition: Sealed
(pic cover)

(Still sealed, but with a cutout notch and some chewing at the opening.)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Sire, 1983. Near Mint- (pic cover)
What can we say? Despite the stupid appearance of the band, "White Horse" was a classic breakdance/electro track that crossed over so big it had kids in Kansas running out to by parachute pants and squares of linoleum to play along with the kids in the Bronx. Despite that runaway hit ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
Total Experience, 1982. Very Good
A great bass-heavy groover from The Gap Band – pulled off one of their best albums ever, Gap Band IV! The cut's got some really great funky bits on the bottom – acoustic piano wrapped around some more electric rhythms, in a blend that keeps the track as soulful as it is catchy! 12-inch, Vinyl record

Rolling Stones, 1978. Very Good+ (pic cover)
A club crossover classic from The Rolling Stones – a track that surprisingly got the group onto the dancefloor in the late 70s, but which still held onto most of their best elements! Although sometimes panned as a cheap disco cash-in effort by some, the tune is actually pretty darn great ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

Recorded after he left Roy Ayers' group, and with a different feel than the stuff he did in the early 70's, this track is Edwin Birdsong's big funk hit, and a tough one to find, too! The cut's got a snapping groove that's in a tight rollerskate funk mode – very nice all the way through, and ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
