We realize that there are many different interpretations of the standard grades used
for pre-owned vinyl record albums & CD, so we thought we'd offer you the ones that we are working with,
so you have an idea what we mean when we give the grade for a non-new item on our pages.
Used Vinyl Grades
Below are stated conditions for a used vinyl records at Dusty Groove. Grading for
the cover should be assumed to be near (within a "+" or "-")
the grading for the vinyl.
If there is significant divergence from the condition of the vinyl, or specific flaws,
these will be noted in the comments section of the item. However, please be aware that
since the emphasis of this site is towards the music listener, our main concern is with
the vinyl of any used item we sell. Additionally, please note that all of our records
are graded visually; considering the volume of used vinyl we handle, it is impossible
for us to listen to each record. If we spot any significant flaws, we make every attempt
to listen through them and note how they play.
The following grading conditions apply to the vinyl component of an album or single:

A tight little pop tune from Slave – perhaps less of a full funk workout than some of their other tracks, but with some sweetly compressed vocals that give the number a nice nice hook! 12-inch, Vinyl record
One of Odyssey's real classics – a smooth little groove with a classy club sound that never gets old! "Native New Yorker" mixes soaring strings with some great funky rhythms – all held together by tinkling piano that stands out nicely in the mix, and which almost makes the ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
A classic bit of 70s dancefloor funk from Michael Zager – and a track that features early vocals by Peabo Bryson! "Do It With Feeling" kicks off with a slow bassline, but then picks things up with lots of the rocking guitar touches that Zager liked to bring to his work – ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
One of the tracks that would pave the way for Teddy Riley's domination of the radio and charts with his New Jack sound, and the one hit of one hit wonder Johnny Kemp. Maybe it's a bit of nostalgia but we still enjoy giving it a spin now an then! 12-inch, Vinyl record
