Dancin'/How Can You Live Without Love

12-inch (Item 49958) RCA, 1978 — Condition: Very Good-
$1.99 ...

12-inch

(€1.76 || £1.52 || ¥199) (approx.)

Two nice ones from the smooth soul team of Grey & Hanks! "Dancin" is an uptempo groover – as you'd guess by the title – but with a smooth sound that keeps the proceedings nice and soulful. "How Can You Life" is a mellower tune – a nice little stepper with a righteous approach that almost reminds us of DJ Rogers! (White label promo.)  © 1996-2016, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good - (minus)

  • Vinyl may be dirty, and can lack a fair amount of luster.
  • Vinyl can have a number of marks, either in clusters or smaller amounts, but deeper.
  • This is the kind of record that you'd buy to play, but not because it looked that great. Still, the flaws should be mostly cosmetic, with nothing too deep that would ruin the overall record.
  • Examples include a record that has been kept for a while in a cover without the paper sleeve, or heavily played by a previous owner and has some marks across the surface. The record should play okay, though probably with surface noise.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

A nice 80s groove moment from Pleasure's Give It Up LP, cut well after their more well known jazz funk years at Fantasy, but a nice, tight piece of very bass heavy commercial funk, with some nice synth touches, kind of in the mode of early 80s Cameo or Dazz Band. 12-inch, Vinyl record

Hit work from the legendary Peter Brown – a key player in far more club sides than we can remember, but a real chart-topper with this one! Theme From King Kong/Blues Concerto
20th Century, 1976. Very Good
A great one! "Theme From King Kong" is a killer cut – one of the last really funky numbers that Barry White cut in the 70s, with a bouncing rolling bassline that's just great, stepping and changing a lot before the rest of the groove comes in to take the single home! 12-inch, Vinyl record

Probably one of the biggest dancefloor tracks from The Whispers – "And The Beat Goes On" has the group grooving to a sweet modern sound with a sweet LA soul sound.
