This image is a general representation of the item and the actual product may differ slightly in terms of color shading, logo placement, borders, or other small details. Used items may have various cosmetic differences as well.
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play
without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove,
you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not,
then you may return it for a full refund.
With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of
surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be
clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we
handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted
otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so
look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.
A lost treasure chest of southern soul – 20 previously unissued tracks by the legendary George Jackson, a songwriter we'd place right up there with Sam Dees, Jimmy Lewis, Phillip Mitchell, and other southern soul greats! The tracks on the set were mostly recorded as demos at Muscle Shoals ... CD
One of the most compelling later albums on Philly International – a killer mix of jazzy numbers that have a very different style than most of the other Philly work at the time! Even though Leon Huff had been banging around in soul music for about 15 years – most famously as half of the ... CD
The title says it all – as the set's a collection of rare group soul recordings from Chicago, either unreleased recordings by obscure groups, or a few alternate takes of more famous numbers (but we use that term loosely here, as the cuts are all pretty darn rare!) Obviously, the fidelity's ... CD
Pop soul from Full Force – filled with plenty of influence from mainstream hip hop, but all watered down into a much more partyful groove! The group here are a bridge between the commercial funk of Prince, The Time, and other 80s acts – and some of the more beat-heavy sounds coming out ... CD
Lots of smooth mellow soul with an uptown feel, but recorded and produced by the southern Excello/Abet labels. Lots of good work here by ZZ Hill, Jerry Washington, Freddie North, The Avons, Marva Whitney, Skip Mahoaney & The Casuals, Bobby Powell, and Percy Wiggins – and a lot of tracks ... CD
A killer set from a group that never lets us down – stepping out here in a sound that's more modern, more mature than their hit work of the 70s – yet still filled with all the sublime harmony soul we'd expect from the trio of Tony Silvester, Cuba Gooding, and Luther Simmons! Wade ... CD
A nice set of funky soul tracks by the great Syl Johnson – and believe it or not, one that has a different listing than some of the other CDs of his Twilight/Twinight work that we've carried! Apparently, some of this stuff's from singles, and it features nice tracks that weren't on the LPs. ... CD
A huge discovery in vocal group material from the 50s – served up in this excellent series of tracks from the vaults of LA's Modern Records label! Most folks associate the early vocal group sounds with the east coast or Chicago scenes of the postwar years – but there was also plenty of ... CD
Another incredible volume in the Soulful Thangs series – easily one of the greatest for late nite soul and rare harmony vocals! The package has a beautifully drifting sound throughout – that mellow as mellow can be soul that was made most perfectly at the end of the 60s and into the ... CD
