Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
A near-lost album from Sammy's years at Reprise – and an album that's got that nice bouncey style that the label was using with Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra in the 60s! A lot of the thanks goes to producer Sonny Burke, who inflects Sammy's vocals with a punched-up set of rhythms that makes ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of our favorite albums by Sammy Davis Jr ever – a real lost treasure from his early years at Reprise! The record's got a jazzy,s winging style that's really great – and features the tasty hit "Bee Bom", a scatting masterpiece that's one of Sammy's best tunes ever – ... LP, Vinyl record album
Early 60s magic from Joni James – still going very strong at this point, thanks to some more modern arrangements that help overcome the slightly dated sound of older records. Backings on the set are handled by Chuck Sagle and Jimmy Haskell – and the song list includes the usual blend ... LP, Vinyl record album
Singer Lisa Kirk presents a set that includes original material by Robert Wells and David Saxon – with titles that include "Good Little Girls", "Why Can't You Behave", "I Travel Light", "How Come You Do Me Like You Do", and "Far Away Places/The ... LP, Vinyl record album
A pretty hip album of jazz vocal numbers by Pat Thomas – made even hipper by arrangements from Claus Ogerman and Lalo Schifrin! The style of the record's a bit like Lorez Alexandria's work from the same time – part jazz, part soul, and all-solid all the way through vocally – with ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of Billie's last sessions – recorded with beautiful large backings by Ray Ellis, and a heartbreaking tone that may not show Billie as strong technically as on some of her earlier albums, but which is pretty darn compelling nonetheless. Titles include "All The Way", "Don't ... LP, Vinyl record album
