Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have
some signs of use (although not major ones).
May have slight surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
A fantastic live set from Phil Woods – recorded right around the same time as his French album Alive & Well, but even more hard-burning! The group here is similar – the European Rhythm Machine combo – with George Gruntz on piano, Henri Texier on bass, and Daniel Humair on ... LP, Vinyl record album
Great stuff! Phils Woods plays reeds over a cool crazy band of Greek players who are trying to do a "jazz meets Zorba the Greek" thing here. Sounds crazy, but the record's actually great, and has a mix of styles that comes together in an amazing way. We always used to pass this up, but ... LP, Vinyl record album
This is the only album we've ever seen by this obscure east coast female organist, and it's somewhere between work by Trudy Pitts and Shirley Scott, with a little bit of the hip twist that was going down in New Jersey at the time of the recording. Bu sings a bit, but it's mostly organ grooves, and ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of Robin Kenyatta's hipper records of the 70s – mostly because it features material recorded during his late 60s years! The bulk of the set features a 1969 live recording – with Kenyatta leading a quartet with Larry Willis on piano, Walter Booker on bass, and Alphonse Mouzon on ... LP, Vinyl record album
A fantastic album by Charles Earland – and one which, like many of his Muse albums, has a groove that he hardly ever managed to put on wax with other labels at the time! The band – which features Grady Tate, Melvin Sparks, Bill Hardman, and Houston Person – comps in a perfect ... LP, Vinyl record album
A nice later date as a leader from the great trumpeter Bill Hardman – better-known for his earlier work with Art Blakey! The set features Junior Cook on tenor, Slide Hampton on trombone, and Walter Bishop Jr on piano – and titles include "Avila & Tequila", "Cubicle&qu ... LP, Vinyl record album
