Reconstruccion

LP (Item 494985) Vaya, 1975 — Condition: Very Good+
One of the best-selling albums ever from the team of Ricardo Ray & Bobby Cruz – and a key set that marked a sharp dedication to spirituality in their music! The rhythms here are strongly in the best salsa mode the pair was forging in the 70s – heavy piano from Ricardo, and majestic vocals from Bobby – all set to rhythms from a tight little combo that's heavy on percussion, and features tight trumpet from Ray Maldonado. But the subject matter's a bit more righteous and positive than before – showing the change Ray and Cruz were making in their lives, with an influence that would spread widely throughout the larger Latin scene of the 70s. Titles include "Te Invito A Mi Casa", "El Pregonero", "Pero El Cielo Donde Esta", "Algo Diferente", "Soy Tan Feliz", and "Juan En La Ciudad".  © 1996-2023, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

ABC, 1975. Near Mint- Gatefold
Heady work from Chango – a 70s combo with a style that's right in keeping with the Chicano Rock scene in LA! Incredible sounds from the legendary Discos Fuentes – Colombia's powerhouse of musical magic for the past 50 years – presented here on some of the rootsier recordings from the label's early years! Noro Morales

His Piano & Rhythm
Ansonia, Early 60s. Very Good-
Great stuff – and one of the purest examples we can find of the Latin piano style of the great Noro Morales! Verve, 1967. Near Mint-
The great Latin big band arrangements of Chico O'Farrill meet the groovy production of late-60's Verve – and the result is an excellent album of groovy instrumentals that just won't quit! The classic by Schoolly D – his second album, and the one where he really hits his stride – with profane humor and classic drum machine and oddball sample flavored production! Miles Davis

Kind Of Blue
Columbia, 1959. Good
What can we say? This is the ultimate Miles Davis album – the one that includes so many songs that we've heard way too much in Starbucks, in retail stores, or at a friend's house who claims to be a "jazz expert", but is really a yuppie dilettante. Yet somehow, over all the years, ... LP, Vinyl record album
