Funky jazz breaks from Skalpel – a really excellent set throughout, and one that's a lot warmer than the group's earlier work! The drums are heavy, the tracks are tight, but most importantly, the album's awash in warm instrumentation that includes acoustic bass, soulful horn parts, and some especially sweet keyboard lines! The notes are a bit spare on the album, so we're not entirely sure if Skalpel's handling the instrumentation themselves or pulling it from other sources – but given the way the album's put together, we're guessing it's the latter. There's still a bit of a downtempo vibe going on here, especially in the mellow grooving style of the tunes – but the overall song structure here is much tighter, in a way that gives the jazz influence and breaking drums something to work around! Titles include "Shivers", "Flying Officer", "Deep Breath", "Long Distance Call", "Konfusion", "Test Drive", "Wooden Toy", "Split", and "Seaweed". All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
