Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Greatest Hit Singles
Stax, 1970s. Used
An album that pretty much needs no introduction, as it's largely evident from the title. Just ion case you were wondering though, this is quite a batch of heavy soul and protoypical funk. A dozen essential 70s R&B gems, as released on singles, including "Walk On By", "Do Your ... CD

Stax, Late 60s/Early 70s. Used
20 titles from Johnny's early big hit years at Stax – back when he was cracking the charts with his home-styled blusey soul tunes that just wouldn't quit! Plenty of nice numbers on here – including the huuuuge hit "Who's Makin' Love", plus "Love Bones", "I ... CD
Stax/Volt/Atlantic, 1950s. Used 9 CDs
This is it! A pretty darn complete document of one of the greatest soul labels of all time – put together in a wonderful box with a book on the label that's almost as great as the music on the 9CDs in the set! This one established a new standard for box sets when it was issued in 1991, and ... CD

Lalah Hathaway

Where It All Begins
Stax, 2011. Used
A really strong album from Lalah Hathaway – profoundly addressing her legacy on this second album for Stax by covering a Donny Hathaway classic and paying tribute to him with the album art – all the while standing up proudly as a soul music veteran with a proud legacy that's all her own! ... CD
Red Greg/Unidisc, 1977. Used

Eddie Drennon & BBS Unlimited

Collage
Friends & Co, 1975. Used
A 70s New York classic – the first and best album by Eddie Drennon! Eddie's got a unique sound that's part soul and part Latin – grooving here in a Latin Hustle mode that brings together gliding strings, floating chorus vocals, and a heavier funk-based set of rhythms that really kicks ... CD
Rhino, Late 70s/Early 80s. Used
15 bass-heavy classics from the band that virtually invented the 80s groove sound! I Feel For You
Warner, 1984. Used
Chaka Khan steps off her smoother sets from the early 80s here – into a groove that's a bit chunkier, funkier, and with some key 80s groove touches! Arif Mardin's still in charge of the whole project here, but he's opened the door to a host of other producers to update Chaka's sound for the ... CD

Payne & Pleasure
ABC/Reel Music, 1974. Used

Shades Of Brown

S.O.B.
Cadet/Dusty Groove, 1970. Used
Amazing soul from Chess Records – and an album that almost feels like some lost small-label soul set, or a batch of rare funky 45s! Shades Of Brown are an ultra-hip male group from Chicago – a quartet of singers with the range and depth of The Temptations or Dells at their best, ... CD
