Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Damn, One Way never lets us down – and although the group cut many albums back in the day, all of them have some great standout moments! The groove here seems even tighter than ever, but never slick or commercial – a very important distinction, given that so many of One Way's ... CD
Chess/MCA, Late 50s. Used
Some of the greatest doo wop of the 50s – big hits, to be sure, but still incredible work that helped to redefine the sound of the vocal group at the time! Bobby Lester's time with the Moonglows was a really special moment for the group – a point when they started to focus their sound ... CD
MCA/PTG (Netherlands), 1979. Used
Smooth stepping grooves from The Floaters – still very much in the nicely compressed mode of their more famous debut, and getting some nice production help here from Eugene McDaniels! There's a righteous punch to the record that really shows the influence of McDaniels – a way of ... CD

Bobby Womack

Communication
United Artists, 1971. Used
One of the all-time great ones from Bobby Womack – and a set that definitely helped push the singer into the mainstream of soul in the 70s! Bobby says thanks to Sly Stone on the back of this album – and it's clear that he's gotten a good dose of Sly's funky soul to kick things up a bit ... CD

Fatback Band

Yum Yum
Event/Southbound (UK), 1975. Used
Yum Yum indeed – because the groove on here is pretty darn tasty! Fatback are definitely shaking off the rougher edges of their funkiest years on this set, but the sound is still plenty great – a jamming dancefloor groove that's still filled with plenty of tight live instrumentation, ... CD

Candi Staton

Best Of Candi Staton
Warner, 1970s. Used
An interesting set of tracks that traces the roots of Candi Staton from a rough southern soul singer into a sophisticated diva whose transformation marked a similar path that was taken by many other artists from her generation. The 14 track compilation pulls together titles from Candi's albums on ... CD
