Used Vinyl Grades
Below are stated conditions for a used vinyl records at Dusty Groove. Grading for
the cover should be assumed to be near (within a "+" or "-")

If there is significant divergence from the condition of the vinyl, or specific flaws,
these will be noted in the comments section of the item. However, please be aware that
since the emphasis of this site is towards the music listener, our main concern is with
the vinyl of any used item we sell. Additionally, please note that all of our records
are graded visually; considering the volume of used vinyl we handle, it is impossible

Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Piano giant Ray Bryant joins the ranks of the Music Minus One series – working with a quartet that includes Kenny Burrell on guitar, George Duvivier on bass, and Art Taylor on drums – almost grooving in a late 50s Prestige mode, save for the fact that the tunes have a bit of extra space ... A very striking album – one of Ray Bryant's most noteworthy of the time! The album features Ray playing solo piano – quite unusual for the period, as most piano jazz records, especially his, were at least cut in a trio format – with additional bass and drums. Yet the approach ... LP, Vinyl record album
A great album of jazzy tracks that features the hard left-hand piano of Ray Bryant over sweet soul arrangements by Richard Evans, in the same style that Cadet used for some of Ramsey Lewis' best work from the time! Ray also arranged a few of the cuts, in a mode that's just like Evans' – and ... LP, Vinyl record album
Simple stuff – but very nice! Ray's working here in a live trio setting – ala Ramsey Lewis or Les McCann from the same time – and his work on the album has a similar gutbuckety soul feel to it. The rhythm section of Jimmy Rowser bass and Rudy Collins drums is very tight – ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of our favorite Ramsey Lewis albums of all time – an incredible reworking of tunes by The Beatles, done in collaboration with Cadet Records studio maestro Charles Stepney – who brings in some amazing arrangements and production styles to the record! The tunes are familiar, but the ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the great little organ combo albums that Odell Brown recorded with his crack group The Organ-Izers for Cadet. Lots of very groovy stuff, with Louis Satterfield on bass (before the Pharoahs and before Earth, Wind, & Fire), Curtis Prince on drums, Henry Gibson on congas, and Artee "Du ... A collection of 60s sessions from John Klemmer – a real giant on the tenor, with a sound that long deserves to be revived! These sides have a sound that's pretty frenetic, and a style that presages a lot of the white free fusion players that would show up in the 70s. The set collects sides ... LP, Vinyl record album
Well known for the title track, a stepper's classic, this album preserves Don's low down gritty blues style (he played on Prestige sides led by Booker Ervin and Sonny Stitt). The trio lineup featured on this album gives Don the room to sretch out, driving the grooves to their limit. Tracks include ... LP, Vinyl record album
An amazing album by the great guitarist Eddie Fisher – and completely unlike his later funk records! Eddie plays stripped down jazz with a small combo that includes organ by Robert Selby, bass by Paul Jackson, and some rhythm guitar by Phil Westmoreland – and the twin-guitar approach ... LP, Vinyl record album
A collection of some Basie trombonist Al Grey's work for the Argo label pulled from the Last Of The Big Plungers, Snap Your Fingers and Al Grey Billy Mitchell Sextet LPs, some of his hippest work, featuring Billy Mitchell, Donald Byrd, Floyd Morris, Herbie Hancock and Bobby Hutcherson. 22 tracks ... LP, Vinyl record album
Stripped-down Count Basie from the start of the 60s – a great little set that has the Count working with some of the best players from his larger group, in a session of even more intimate small combo material! The sounds here echo the Basie groove of the earlier years, but the overall ... LP, Vinyl record album
