If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play
without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove,
you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not,
then you may return it for a full refund.
With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of
surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be
clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we
handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted
otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so
look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.
A fantastic live set from Caetano Veloso – done in a very spare style, like some of his best work of the time! The album's a great return to basics after use of a rock band on some of Veloso's previous records – and features just Caetano's magical vocals with solo guitar backing – ... CD
One of the weirdest, wildest albums Caetano Veloso ever recorded – a highly experimental session that shows that his ties with the avant art world were still plenty strong on his return to Brazil! Despite a goofy cheeseball photo of Veloso on the cover in a bikini, the sound on this one is ... CD
Caetano Veloso at the end of the 70s – still sounding wonderful, but in ways that are quite different from his earliest albums! The sound here is more restrained, and more mature – a beautiful example of the songwriting strength that Veloso evolved as his career moved on – tunes ... CD
A double CD set – recorded live, featuring material from Caetano's tour for the Noites Do Norte album. Like that album, this set features many rootsy numbers – Caetano's always great vocals mixing with guitar and percussion, evoking the spirit of the north, and touching on a few other ... CD
One of Maria Bethania's most beautiful albums in years – one that features some great guitar accompaniment by Jaime Alem, who also helped produce the record. The album's got an intimate quality that works beautifully with Bethania's deep vocals – recorded here in a setting that's a lot ... CD
A great 90s album by Caetano Veloso – a beautiful re-awakening of his genius in the later years of his career! The sound here is as fresh, creative, and personal as on some of Veloso's best post-Tropicalia albums of the 70s – served up in a blend of spare percussion, edgey guitars, and ... CD
An amazing tribute to the great work of Chico Buarque! Chico's an artist who's had by far the most wide-ranging effect of any of Brazil's MPB giants – and his rich history of songwriting spans the bossa years, through the Tropicalia era, right up into the modern age. This whopping 8 volume ... CD
3 of Djavan's best early albums – in one nicely priced box set! The records are all truly great – a wonderful blend of the soulful, jazzy, and baroque – stepping off a tradition of MPB started by Milton Nascimento, and handled with a sound that's a bit more ambitious, and which ... CD
