Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible.
When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the
lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves),
and the booklet to be in good shape.
Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or
defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs —
so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.
All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws.
If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine
that it plays correctly —
and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.
Jackie McLean joined by Doug Watkins, Hank Mobley, Donald Byrd, Gil Coggins, Louis Hayes, Elmo Hope, John Jenkins, Arthur Phipps, Arthur Taylor, Mal Waldeon, Webster Young & Bill Hardman. CD
Stunning! This is one of Jackie McLean's best-ever albums, and it's a haunting mix of hard bop and some of the more modernist tendencies that would inform his "new thing" period. Butch Warren plays bass, and he drives the set with an intensity that reminds us of Mingus – and which ... CD
One of Jackie McLean's last "new thing" albums for Blue Note – and a very unique record that features Ornette Coleman on trumpet! The sound here is stark and hard – slight hints of the soulfulness that the "gospel" in the title might imply, mixed with the angular ... CD
A tremendous set from Jackie McLean – perfectly poised between his hardbop and modern years, with a set of compositions that are as great as the performances! The lineup on this one's a bit unusual – with Walter Bishop on piano, Blue Mitchell on trumpet, Paul Chambers on bass, and Art ... CD
Featuring Gonzalo Rubalcaba on piano. Tracks include "Well You Needn't", "Cut & Paste", "MSRP", "St. Thomas", "I Thought About You" and "Stablemates". CD
One of a number of Art Blakey albums titled after "Night In Tunisia" – and most likely the best! The tune is a perfect fit for the Blakey Jazz Messengers format – long, rhythmic, really stretching out, yet allowing plenty of space for the horn players to solo. Players ... CD
A beautiful illustration of the strength of Ron Carter as a leader – that way he has of firmly directing a combo from the place of the bass, yet always in a subtle way that never overpowers the rest of the group! The balance here is wonderful – as Ron's tones really come through ... CD
A great collection from the early years of the label. Includes tracks by Tadd Dameron, Ike Quebec, Earl Hines, The Tiny Grimes Swingtet, Bud Powell, Horace Silver, Lou Donaldson, Clifford Brown, Art Blakey, Thelonious Monk, James Moody's Modernists, Babs' Three Bips & A Bop, and more – ... CD
A great selection of some of Bobbi's funkiest tracks for Blue Note – with a focus on the tunes that have been big with the sample crowd over the past decade, all of which (no coincidence, thinks us!) are produced by the great Larry Mizell! Tracks include "Harlem River Drive", " ... CD
A pretty great little set that combines both of the rare early Elmo Hope 10" LPs for Blue Note – plus some additional material! Introducing The Elmo Hope Trio is seminal early work from Hope – and one of the 10" LP releases that was part of Blue Note's "New Faces – ... CD
A lost piece of wisdom and knowledge! This hard to find recording is based around a play written by Amiri Baraka (LeRoi Jones), and features music from Sun Ra & The Myth Science Arkestra. The original recording is extremely rare – and the CD accurately captures the excitement and raw ... CD
A trio date with James Cammack on bass guitar and David Bowler on drums. Tracks include "Caravan", "Easy Living", "Acorn", "Aftermath", and the medley "Alone Together/Laura/Wild Is The Wind". CD
