UK Blak

CD (Item 486061) EMI, 1990 — Condition: Used
$6.99 ...

CD

Caron Wheeler's first album after parting company with Jazzy B & Soul II Soul – still done in a very Soul II Soul-like style, though, with plenty of chunky beats that work well with Caron's deeply soulful vocals. There's a different producer on nearly every track – including Carl Macintosh, Blacksmith, Afrika Baby Bam, Derek Johnson, and Steely & Clive – and titles include "Never Lonely", "UK Blak", "Livin In The Light", "Enchanged", "This Is Mine", "No Regrets", and "Proud".  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Out of print.)

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

A great collection of the first wave of work from late 70s Detroit harmony group Enchantment – the best of their recordings for United Artists, and a set that's put together with a real focus on the group's mellower tracks! Like The Dramatics at the time, Enchantment had a newly ... CD

Slave
Cotillion/Rhino, 1977. Used
Far and away the band's best record! The album's got a fresh funk sound that takes an earlier 70s ensemble style and slicks it down a bit – but thanks to some great drum work by Tim Dozier (Steve Arrington had yet to join the band), and a subtle riffing bass style by Mark Adams, the band had ... Deniece Williams

Let's Hear It For The Boy
Columbia, 1984. Used
An album that crossed over for Deniece in a big way – and it's a great one, with crisp, lean pop soul production that's as gratifying as any of the era – with a few ballads that are totally top notch, too! This is definitely the best of her more pop oriented records, with hooks galore ... CD
