Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have
some signs of use (although not major ones).
May have slight surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
An undisputed groover! The track's a killer uptempo one from James' later years on King – and it's got this amazing beat that snaps along at a full deep stride. Very nice stuff, and the kind of tight grooving that would show up later in his work with the JBs – done here earlier, with ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
An interesting single from James – featuring his super-huge hit of the mid 60s, but issued on a late 60s King label! The tune's a stone winner as always – and the flip is "mostly instrumental", with a vamp that virtually invented the funky vamp! 7-inch, Vinyl record
Nice stuff from James! "Public Enemy" is a wonderful track, with a long spoken monologue that shows a great side of James' progressive ideas. Nice message about heroin, and a good backing with a mellow feel. Even better is "My Thang", a nice hard funky track that's James' ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
An excellent funky number from the mid 70s, and proof that James was still going strong! The track has a mellow snapping easy funk groove, with some great bubbling keyboards, and very positive lyrics from James. Nice part two, too! 7-inch, Vinyl record
Beautiful soul from The Godfather, recorded in the period immediately after he discovered the choppy choppy guitar riff on the downbeat! Both parts swing hard hard hard, and the band is as tight as a pair of trousers after Thanksgiving! 7-inch, Vinyl record
A great little track from Sergio – "The Real Thing" is a funky cover of the Stevie Wonder tune by the same name, done in a tight smooth 70s jazz funk mode, a style that's keep the song fresh for many years to come! "Peninsula" is more of a fusion jamming track – a ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Dennis Coffey's classic breakbeat track, with an intro that's been sampled more times that we can count – and a groove that's much harder to find on wax these days than it should be! Excellent stuff, with a choppy hard guitar groove, tight drums, and a nice rumbling conga that runs ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
