Live (Arista)

LP (Item 485338) Arista, 1980 — Condition: Very Good+
A really hard-hitting and heavy-jamming album from Gong – far more so than you might guess from the cover! The album really has Gong moving fully into fusion for the set – working in a mode that's driven by plenty of heavy drums on most tracks – as tunes stretch out to quite some length, and feature a fair bit of interplay between guitars, vibes, and percussion – almost in a style that graced the European scene a lot more strongly in the early 70s. Titles include "Downwind", "Golden Dilemma", "Soli", "Drum Solo", "Esnuria", and "Crosscurrents".  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(US pressing. Cover has a cutout hole, ringwear, heavy edge wear, and is bent at the edges.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Condition Notes

If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially if it is release or pressing details, or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

The Monkees had so many fantastic records during their short span of recording, nearly all of them might well be "greatest hits" – but this set does a nice job of slimming the selection down to focus on some of the most long-lasting tracks from the group! Hot Rats
Bizarre, 1969. Very Good+ Gatefold
One of those records that should be an insane dark mess, given the look of the cover – but which turns out to be a surprisingly well put-together effort all the way through!
