Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have
some signs of use (although not major ones).
May have slight surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
One of the Young-Holt group's greatest tracks! "Wack Wack" is a stunning little jazzy groover – heavy left hand on the piano, with acoustic bass bouncing along on the groove, all very catchy, and with shouted vocals over the top! Great stuff – and proof that the guys were on ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
The Count takes on some 60s soul numbers – and the results are great! "Green Onions" is done here with piano instead of organ – over a slow-stepping, very sly groove that's got a real Soul Cargo sort of feel! 7-inch, Vinyl record
Fantastic stuff from one of Chicago's best harmony groups! "Make My Life" is their greatest track of all time – with a killer hook that hits you right on the intro, and which works magic with the groups' great voices! 7-inch, Vinyl record
2 funky gems from Willie Henderson! "Loose Booty" is the famous funk number sampled by The Beastie Boys, the one with the "Professor . .?" spoken part in a female voice – which then leaps into a really cool groove that's got a whistling bit at the beginning! 7-inch, Vinyl record
Obscure work by this excellent Chicago soul singer – recorded between his contracts at Okeh and Chi-Sound, and never issued on LP. "It Doesn't Take Much" is a wonderful updating of his 60s sound – a sad little number, done in a smooth groove, with haunting woodwinds floating ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Killer funk! "Action Speaks Louder Than Words" is a great lost 70's funk track, with a slow loping groove, and a tight choppy hook that just crawls along nicely! One of the best cuts ever by this New Orleans band – and always a treat! 7-inch, Vinyl record
