Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible.
When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the
lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves),
and the booklet to be in good shape.
Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or
defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs —
so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.
All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws.
If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine
that it plays correctly —
and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.
That's "Heath", not "health" – as you might think the title's misspelled – as in Jimmy Heath, who arranged most of the numbers on the set! Heath's contribution is a good one too – as it helps Baker create one of his most tightly-wrapped albums of the time, a ... CD
A rare glimpse of the Thelonious Monk Quartet with John Coltrane – recorded in Monk's home turf of The Five Spot by Coltrane's wife at the time! The recording was done on a portable tape recorder, but the overall quality is surprisingly strong – not in stereo, but with more than enough ... CD
A great one from Grant Green – a subtly modern album hiding under a title stolen from a Beatles' song – and one of the mid 60s gems he cut with organist Larry Young! The group features the trio of Young, Green, and Elvin Jones – a dancing combination that pushes the organ/guitar ... CD
The most searching and expansive sounding Kendrick Scott Oracle set for Blue Note yet – working here with producer Derrick Hodge and a fantastic group that includes John Ellis on reeds, Taylor Eigsti on keys, Mike Moreno on guitar and Joe Sanders on bass, and DJ Jahi Sundance turntables on a ... CD
A very sweet, and oft-overlooked session that has Herbie mixing a nice dose of lyricism into his usual soul jazz approach from the 60s! The sound's a bit farther-reaching than on some of Herbie's smaller group sessions – and the record features a sextet that includes Ron Carter, Mickey Roker ... CD
One of the great ones! Grant Green meets up with a youthful Larry Young, and the two of them are backed by Elvin Jones on drums, for a free-flowing, modally grooving set of organ/guitar cuts that are among some of the best-ever recorded for Blue Note. The album's a stunning mix of soul jazz and ... CD
Classic Herbie from the early years, and a great mix of soul jazz and modernism! The record include a nice groovy "hit", Herbie's "Blind Man, Blind Man" – an obvious follow-up to "Watermelon Man", but still a standout track with a lot of imagination, and a ... CD
Phenomenal live material from the sextet-era version of the Jazz Messengers! This 2-volume CD series takes a small amount of live material that was originally issued under the 3 Blind Mice title, and adds a huge amount of previously unreleased tracks to expand both CDs into a whopping batch of ... CD
A really fluid trio set from pianist George Cables – the kind of record that reminds us all over again how great he really is! The group's an excellent one – with superb work on bass from Essiet Essiet and drums from Victor Lewis – both players who have this instant groove, but ... CD
The phoenix does a lot more here than just rise – it soars to the skies on fantastic waves of sound that come from this really great group! Pianist David Kikoski is awash in all the tones and colors he always brings to his music – but this record's got an extra something special – ... CD
