Nuspirit Helsinki

CD (Item 482077) Guidance, 2002 — Condition: Used

CD

✈
A stunning full length CD from Nuspirit Helsinki – far more soulful than any of their earlier singles, with a unified feel that we never expected, and a solid sound that will keep us coming back to this one for years! The record's infused with strands of recent work from London and the Compost crew – but it's also got a far deeper quality, a rich selection of textures and moods, delivered by a range of different lead vocalists, and filled in by some occasional touches of jazz. Titles include "Honest", "Subzero", "Trying", "Circular Motion", "Skydive", "Montano Roja", "Seis Por Ocho", and "I Wonder".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs. This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.

When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.

Ray Harris & The Fusion Experience

Ray Harris & The Fusion Experience
P-Vine (Japan), 2007. Used
Ray Harris is a heck of a great keyboardist – one with plenty of influences from the 60s and 70s, and a groove that more than lives up to the title of the set! The style's a bit less conventionally "fusion" than you might expect – and instead, there's almost a club jazz feel ... CD

Sonar Kollektiv (Germany), 2003. Used
Wonderfully jazzy work from Micatone – a rich album filled with lots of lovely twists and turns, all of them coming off with a level of care and class that we wouldn't expect! The group's core is the instrumental combo – very heavy acoustic bass, drums, guitar, keyboards, vibes, and ... CD

The debut of Bilal, and a key album in that second generation merging of hip hop and R&B – very different than the early 90s moment, where the genres might combine in more of a surface level – and a set that marks a key merging of minds with the styles, as Bilal croons vocals, but ... CD

Gregory Porter

Be Good
Motema, 2012. Used
Wonderful work from Gregory Porter – easily one of the best new jazz singers to emerge in the past decade or so, and one whose approach is soulful enough to rival the greats of the 70s! There's echoes here of Bill Withers, Gil Scott-Heron, and Al Jarreau – and like all those artists, ... CD
