If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play
without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove,
you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not,
then you may return it for a full refund.
With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of
surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be
clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we
handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted
otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so
look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.
Beautiful solo piano from Jovino Santos Neto – an artist we've loved on other releases from Adventure music, but one who really shines here in the spare space of their Piano Masters series! The isolation of Neto's instrument allows for even greater fascination with his subtle tones and ... CD
Sublime vocals from Clarice Assad – a singer who's got some ties to older Brazilian traditions, but who also really makes things all her own – with a dynamic sense of phrasing that's perfectly backed up by some equally great instrumentation! Clarice handled all the arrangments – ... CD
Solo mandolin work by Hamilton De Holanda – played very much in the spare mode you might guess from the title – but often with a bit more dynamic energy than you might expect! Hamilton really has a great range of sound from his instrument – drawing on the Brazilian tradition of ... CD
The third chapter of Caetano Veloso's mighty run of music for Universal – 10 full albums of material here, packaged with a special bonus disc of rare recordings from the 80s and early 90s! As lovers of Caetano's music know, the passage of time only deepened the spirit of his sound – ... CD
One of Antonio Carlos Jobim's greatest records – and a perfect blend of his subtle bossa genius with the moody electric sound of CTI! Jobim plays electric and acoustic piano, guitar, and sings a bit – and Deodato handled the arrangements with a breezy brilliance that matches all the ... CD
We're not sure if the "current" in the title applies to the fact that Jovino Santos Neto is playing a bit of Fender Rhodes this time around – but we certainly like that change, and it helps give the record an even richer feel than some of his previous albums! As before, there's a ... CD
Really lovely sounds from the father/daughter team of Clarice and Sergio Assad – a pair who would already be great as a musical duo, even without a family connection! Sergio plays acoustic guitar throughout – with a fullness of sound, but also the lighter, lyrical sensibility that ... CD
A tremendous little record from Philippe Baden Powell – son of the great Brazilian guitarist, and a musician who's set to impress us as much as his father! Philippe's working here in a mode that's no copycat of his famous father at all – on piano, first of all, and with a style that's ... CD
Really lovely work from Hamilton De Hollanda – the third entry in his Brasilianos series, and possibly the most compelling so far! Hamilton plays a 10 string mandolin with effortless ease – spinning out rich tones and colors that go far beyond traditional Brazilian use of a bandolim ... CD
A lovely collection of songs penned by Moacir Santos – sung by the equally lovely Muiza Adnet, who really manages to unlock the best spirit of the tunes! Of course, it helps that Muiza's working here under the guidance of brother Mario Adnet, who helped produce Santos' late-career classic ... CD
