Rainy Days Stormy Nights/Carry Me Back

12-inch (Item 480892) Fantasy, 1977 — Condition: Very Good+
$3.99 ...

12-inch, Vinyl record

(€3.41 || £3.07 || ¥441) (approx.)

A warm and wonderful groove from Impact – penned by Keith Barrow, and done with a soaring Philly sound, but also some great harmonies too! "Carry Me Back" follows in a very similar spirit – and both cuts are billed here as "special disco mix". (In a Fantasy sleeve.)  © 1996-2017, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Fantasy, 1979. Very Good
Killer funky cuts, back to back! "Glide" is an upbeat dancefloor tune that was one of the group's most popular numbers, backed here with another uptempo groover that's got lots of wah wah guitar moving really fast, and slick flanged-up vocals that groove in the band's best late mode. 12-inch, Vinyl record

Sugar Hill, 1982. Near Mint-
A killer single from Trouble Funk, on Sugar Hill, with the band's trade mark percussive riffing, and as you'd expect from go go, loads of nice fills and breakdowns all centered around a fat rolling bass pedal groove. 12-inch, Vinyl record
Dakar, 1980. Very Good
An excellent, if lesser known, uptempo roller skating groove, with a chirping guitar and rolling bass pedal groove. 12-inch, Vinyl record
Harlem International, 1981. Very Good
An obscure later tune by The Whatnauts – issued years after their classics for All-Platinum in the early 70s – but proof that the group is always great, no matter what the setting! A dancefloor anthem if there ever was one – and produced by August Darnell, pre Kid Creole. Strong female vocals in unison – and a hook that just won't quit for the west village clubs! 12-inch, Vinyl record
LaFace, 1997. Near Mint-
Includes two hard to find remixes by Timbaland and Lil Jon, both pretty serious, with the amazing Lil Jon instrumental. 12-inch, Vinyl record

TEC, Late 70s. Very Good+
Pre-Mercury work by Heaven & Earth – cut with a sound that's a bit rougher, but still pretty darn nice! The group exhibit their strength in both the ensemble funk mode and the group harmony style – and the single's a nice piece of the puzzle for their early career! 12-inch, Vinyl record
