LP

Hot on the heels of his big hits – adding in perhaps a bit stronger of a rock vibe, picking up the beat on a few tunes, but never losing his subtle brilliance, and the wit that makes him the popular music link to a long historical line of Irish poets. Titles include "A Friend Of Mine", "They've Only Themselves To Blame", "Get Down", "Not In A Million Years", "I Have Never Loved You As Much As I Love You Today", and "Where Peaceful Waters Flow". We realize that there are many different interpretations of the standard grades used for pre-owned vinyl record albums & CD, so we thought we'd offer you the ones that we are working with, so you have an idea what we mean when we give the grade for a non-new item on our pages.

Used Vinyl Grades

Below are stated conditions for a used vinyl records at Dusty Groove. Grading for the cover should be assumed to be near (within a "+" or "-") the grading for the vinyl. If there is significant divergence from the condition of the vinyl, or specific flaws, these will be noted in the comments section of the item. However, please be aware that since the emphasis of this site is towards the music listener, our main concern is with the vinyl of any used item we sell. Additionally, please note that all of our records are graded visually; considering the volume of used vinyl we handle, it is impossible for us to listen to each record. If we spot any significant flaws, we make every attempt to listen through them and note how they play.

The following grading conditions apply to the vinyl component of an album or single:

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Atlantic, 1969. Very Good Gatefold
An album so heavy, it blew plenty of minds when first released at the end of the 60s! This set's the first-ever utterance from the King Crimson empire – the initial outing of the group, which featured Greg Lake on vocals, and lots of airy, darkly atmospheric guitar from the legendary Robert ... Flying Burrito Brothers
A&M, 1971. Near Mint-
The Burritos first LP, post-Parsons – and a pretty strong statement for the merits of the now unquestioned leader, Rick Roberts, and multi-instrumentalist new guy Bernie Leadon, who would later turn to the dark side and join the Eagles. Roberts penned or co-penned 7 of the albums 10 tunes, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Totally great material – a very unique package that features some rare gems from the UK postpunk scene that we've only seen on this set! Tracks include "Breach Birth (Blockade mix) by In The Nursery, "Skin Scraped Back" by Workforce, "Muscoviet Musquito" by Xymox, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Sire, 1978. Near Mint-
Early genius from the Talking Heads – a set that's got a much sparer sound than most of their later work, and a surprisingly groovy feel overall! The starkness of the group's debut is still very much in place – lots of tight interplay between bass and guitar – but the rhythms are ... LP, Vinyl record album

Epic, 1980. Very Good+ 3LP
The longest album ever from The Clash – a stunning triple LP set that really shows the group bristling with new ideas and energy throughout! Some Girls
Rolling Stones, 1978. Near Mint-
Way more than the disco cash-in some folks thought at the time – and a surprisingly classic set that perfectly sums up the late 70s Stones ethos – and, in a way, the vibe of a changing New York! Titles include "Miss You", "Beast Of Burden", "Shattered", ... LP, Vinyl record album

Elektra, 1971. Very Good+ Gatefold
Third album from the Brit prog-rockers. This album is a bit funkier than their previous releases, as their Memphis soul influence is quite apparent here. Nice moments throughout, with a monster drumbreak on "The Rock". Other titles include "Breakthrough", "Decision/Indeci ... LP, Vinyl record album

The first Chicago album – presented here in all its jazzy brilliance! EMI, 1983. Near Mint-
A mega-hit for David Bowie – and an album that reduced some of the complexity of previous efforts, yet still managed to hold onto all that was great! Night At Count Basie's
Roulette, Early 60s. Very Good
Rare album of organ jazz by the lost Perri Lee trio. Lee was another one of the great female organists around in the early 60's – like Shirley Scott or Rhoda Scott – and she just wails in this live set recorded at Count Basie's nightclub in Harlem. A big added bonus on this album is ... LP, Vinyl record album
