Adventures Of Keith

LP (Item 476715) RCA, 1969 — Condition: Sealed

A rich blend of breezy orchestrations and an early rock opera narrative from Keith – and ambitious set of groovy psychedelic pop songcraft that's light years away from his earlier hit – and an underappreciated gem that more or less capped off his young career! The record has some fairly driving rhythms holding together some fairly grand arrangements, and soulful pop singing from Keith. Nice stuff, a little sweet and naive, and charming in its late 60s psych pop grandiosity. Titles include "Alone On The Shore", "Trixon's Election", "Waiting To Be", "Melody", "The Problem", "Marstrand", "Mr Hyde", "China Clipper", "Elea-Elea" and "Charley Cinders".  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Great great work from Keith – one of those overlooked pop talents of the 60s, but one who really came across with a great sound at the time – kind of a mix of Burt Bacharach arrangements with a pop psych sort of edge! The tunes are sweet, but swinging too – and Keith's got this ... LP, Vinyl record album

"I'm a rock n' roll puppet, in a band called Bow Wow Wow." A surprisingly tasty album of funky rock tracks – and the only one that we've ever seen from this obscure Bay Area group! The record's mostly sought-after for the funky cut "Can I Dedicate" – a 9 minute instrumental jam that starts with a great piano-heavy break, and rolls ... LP, Vinyl record album
