Coco Kane/It's Your Last Chance

12-inch (Item 476130) AVI, 1978 — Condition: Used
Temporarily Out Of Stock

12-inch, Vinyl record

Plenty of strings in "Coco Kane", but a great groove too – one that has a strutting sort of bottom, topped with some of the strongest female vocals we've heard on an El Coco Tune! "It's Your Last Chance" has a catchy sort of disco feel – one that builds nicely, and features a bit of keyboards soloing in the middle! (Labels have an ink stamp.)  © 1996-2017, Dusty Groove, Inc.

We realize that there are many different interpretations of the standard grades used for pre-owned vinyl record albums & CD, so we thought we'd offer you the ones that we are working with, so you have an idea what we mean when we give the grade for a non-new item on our pages.

Used Vinyl Grades

Below are stated conditions for a used vinyl records at Dusty Groove. Grading for the cover should be assumed to be near (within a "+" or "-") the grading for the vinyl. If there is significant divergence from the condition of the vinyl, or specific flaws, these will be noted in the comments section of the item. However, please be aware that since the emphasis of this site is towards the music listener, our main concern is with the vinyl of any used item we sell. Additionally, please note that all of our records are graded visually; considering the volume of used vinyl we handle, it is impossible for us to listen to each record. If we spot any significant flaws, we make every attempt to listen through them and note how they play.

The following grading conditions apply to the vinyl component of an album or single:

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Nice early stuff from El Coco – with more of a funky sound than later work! "Let's Get it Together" is a nice club groover, stretched out to 6 minutes here – with some great keyboards drifting in and out of midtempo beats – almost in a P&P sort of mode, but a bit ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

One of the all-time great jazzy soul tunes! Gene Dunlap cut this little gem with backing vocals by The Ridgeways for his 1981 album It's Just The Way I Feel – but the tune has outlasted the album for years, and is a big favorite with steppers even into this century. An 80s groove classic! This track has a killer sound that mixes bass-heavy funk with a tight electric keyboard sound – and it rips along nicely with a very catchy hook. The cut's one of our all-time favorites from this time, and it's got a hard funky groove that keeps on going! 12-inch, Vinyl record
