Billy Preston's getting some really wonderful help on this mid 70s set – assistance from a cool array of talents that includes Syreeta, Stevie Wonder, Shuggie Otis, and Keni Burke! Most of these guests artists only appear on a song or two each, but they really help Preston expand his sound from the past – and move into some of the hipper territory that each of the guests was laying down on their own records of the time. Billy's not trying to push himself as strongly as before, and in a way it's almost like he's laying back to take a few lessons from others – still somewhat righteous and gospel-influenced in his groove, but also somewhat more restrained and moving towards mellower soul at points. Titles include "Fancy Lady", "Found The Love", "That's Life", "Song Of Joy", "It's My Pleasure", "All Of My Life", and "I Can't Stand It". (Cover has some wear, a light stain on the bottom 2 inches, and some flaking at the bottom.)  © 1996-2015, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Easy to dance your ass off with music this great – a fast, firey form of funk that's very much in the best Bohannon mode – that unique groove that was unlike anything else to hit the American scene for years to come! Way more than just a "boogie" album – as you might think from the title – and much more a hard-hitting batch of funky tunes, mixed with some even cooler laidback numbers! The album follows heavily off the style of Wild & Peaceful – mixing together the group's older ... LP, Vinyl record album

An incredible album – a landmark piece of funk that nobody should be without, funk fan or not! The album is the second to feature James Brown's famous backing combo of the early 70s – and unlike their first one, which was really more of a collection of singles, this album has the group ...
