Lost In Space

LP (Item 4717) Tommy Boy, 1983 — Condition: Very Good
Just Sold Out!

LP, Vinyl record album

❔

Classic 80's electro funk, with a couple tracks mixed by Jellybean Benitez. Toss on "Space Cowboy", "We Are the Jonzun Crew" or "Pack Jam" and pull out the linoleum, or if you're a low budget b-boy like some of us were back in the day, the flattened-out refrigerator box. Also includes "Space Is The Place", "Electro Boogie Encounter" and "Ground Control".  © 1996-2021, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

In Full Gear
Tommy Boy, 1988. Very Good+
The second Stet LP, with the group repping BK in fine style. There's a fair share of Prince Paul niceness here, and Daddy-O's beats are no slouch either, in case the matching sweatsuits aren't enough to get you open. Sweet Sensation

Sad Sweet Dreamer
Pye, 1975. Near Mint-
Great stuff from this short-lived UK soul group – and a record that includes the monster title cut "Sad Sweet Dreamer". The record's filled with other great harmony soul tracks, and it's hard to believe it was recorded in the UK, because it sounds much more like an East Coast soul ... LP, Vinyl record album

Freddie Scott

Lonely Man
Columbia, Late 60s. Very Good+
An excellent album of uptown soul from Freddie – recorded after his work for Colpix, with arrangements by Belford Hendricks and Garry Sherman, in a sweet 60s New York mode! Freddie's vocals are great – much more mature than before, with a mixture of deep and sophisticated soul that ... LP, Vinyl record album

A real killer from Hammond hero Charles Earland – a record that stretches out as much as his studio gems for Prestige, but in a slightly different way!
