Soft Lights Sweet Music

LP (Item 47120) RCA, 1980 — Condition: Sealed
The only RCA album from Enchantment – and a great little set that has the group stretching out from their earlier records on United Artists! The groove here is still awash in the great harmonies we've always loved from the group – and production is by Don Davis, who always has a great ear for preserving the core soul of any act like this – while also helping them focus their sound as well! The mix is quite similar to excellent work Don did with the Dramatics at the end of the 70s – and Enchantment really benefit with a similar ear for a bouncy groove, and that great Davis way of knowing just the right point when to slow things down on an album, too. Titles include "Settin It Out", "I Believe In You", "Moment Of Weakness", "You & Me", "I Can't Be The One", "Soft Lights Sweet Music", and "I Can't Fake It".  © 1996-2022, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Still sealed. Cover has a cutout notch.)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

RCA (Spain), 1973. Near Mint- Gatefold

Soul Train/RCA, 1975. Very Good+
Although Don Cornelius was at the height of his powers during the mid 70s – what with the Soul Train TV show blasting away regularly on the airwaves – he wasn't nearly as good a record producer as he was a TV emcee. Fortunately, he had a bit of help on this record, which features a ... LP, Vinyl record album

Sam Cooke

Hits Of The 50s
RCA, 1960. Very Good+
A classic set of soulful vocals – one in which Sam Cooke sings hits of the 50s (as you'd guess from the title) – but not necessarily his own hits, more a selection of work by other artists – all given a really unique spin by Sam!
