Everything Must Change

LP (Item 468928) Muse, 1978 — Condition: Very Good
Sublime work from Morgana King – a set that continues the unique mellow vocal tradition begun on her Reprise sides of the 60s, and continued strongly well into the 70s on Paramount and other labels. The setting's somewhat spare here – a small group with guitar, electric piano, bass, drums, and percussion – all used nicely alongside King's vocals in a warm, pillowy quality that glides with a gentle groove and a great sense of grace and presence. The tracks are mosly mellow, and Morgana delivers those great King-styled vocals we love so much – an approach that's unlike any other singer we can think of, and which is right at home here. Titles include "Everything Must Change", "Give Me The Simple Life", "Love Song", "Out Of Nowhere", and "This Masquerade".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover is still in great shape.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

It's A Quiet Thing
Reprise, 1965. Very Good+
A rich effort from Morgana King – the first of her rare Reprise LPs – and a record that shows incredible range and an ability to bring a heavy, textural mood to just about any kind of tune! Sammy Davis Jr Sings – Laurindo Almeida Plays
Reprise, 1966. Very Good+
The closest thing Sammy D ever came to cutting a bossa album – and a lovely batch of fragile tunes that feature no other instrumentation save for the guitar of Laurindo Almeida.
