This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
The second album by Made In Brasil – a great San Francisco combo from the 70s, with a flair for jazzy Brazilian tunes that's every bit as great as groups from Rio or Sao Paulo at the time! The group at this point features keyboardist Claudio Medeiros – who really adds a lot to their ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of Azymuth's best-remembered albums from their American years on Milestone – a really killer classic that beautifully blends Brazilian and American styles of fusion! A real classic from Sergio Mendes – probably most famous for its funky bits! The record pushes past the formula of the earlier Brasil 66 albums, and goes for a more sophisticated approach that adds in some sweet electric moments, more complicated grooves, and an overall sound that's even ... One of Maria Bethania's first albums, and a beautiful set of live recordings – with a vibe that's a lot more uptempo and swinging than some of her later work! The style here almost has traces of bossa – a lighter, groovier feel at times than some of the more emotive modes that Bethania ... LP, Vinyl record album
An incredibly groovy record – and one of two rare sides cut by Bossa Rio – a short-lived vocal group handled by Sergio Mendes! The sound here is kind of an extension of Sergio's work with Brasil 66 – but Bossa Rio have deeper chops vocally, with both male and female singers ... LP, Vinyl record album
A classic batch of Bay Area Brazilian grooves – recorded in the sweet breezy electric style of the Fantasy studios, and featuring the vocals of the lovely Flora Purim in the lead! The session's got a great mix of Brazilian and American fusion players – including Airto (of course!), Ron ... LP, Vinyl record album
Hot on the heels of the very successful Batucada compilations on Mr. Bongo, Soul Jazz release this excellent double-length set of rare Brazilian percussion tracks dating from 1969 to 1978. The groove is very hard and percussive, with lots of very stripped-down playing, and a lot of instrumentation ... LP, Vinyl record album
Really wonderful work from Alexandre Kassin – easily one of the most important contemporary figures in Brazilian music of the past decade or two! Kassin's best known on these shores for his work with Moreno Veloso and Domenico – but he's also had a hand in countless collaborations with ... LP, Vinyl record album
A beautifully plugged-in, turned-on session from Cal Tjader – one that features the funky vibist alongside some sweet Fender Rhodes! The session was recorded live, but it's got a flowing, modal quality that rivals Tjader's best work in the studio for Verve and Fantasy at the end of the 60s ... LP, Vinyl record album
