❔

A set that's way more than the classic rock outing of some of the group's Bay Area contemporaries – as the young Carlos Santana finds a way to mix inspirations from blues and Latin music into this fierce fusion of so many different elements at once – stretching out, jamming, and touching decades of listeners in the process! The whole thing's a perfect sonic blend – guitar, keyboards, and plenty of percussion – on the group's stunning remake of "Oye Como Va", their fusion of "Black Magic Woman/Gypsy Queen", and the cuts "Se A Cabo", "Samba Pa Ti", "El Nicoya", and "Singing Winds Crying Beasts".  © 1996-2021, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover has light surface wear and a hype sticker.)

Very Good - (minus)

  • Vinyl may be dirty, and can lack a fair amount of luster.
  • Vinyl can have a number of marks, either in clusters or smaller amounts, but deeper.
  • This is the kind of record that you'd buy to play, but not because it looked that great. Still, the flaws should be mostly cosmetic, with nothing too deep that would ruin the overall record.
  • Examples include a record that has been kept for a while in a cover without the paper sleeve, or heavily played by a previous owner and has some marks across the surface. The record should play okay, though probably with surface noise.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Welcome
Columbia, 1973. Near Mint- Gatefold
Sadly, it's really easy to dismiss Santana, if only for his having been elevated to iconic status among hippies and classic rock lovers, in spite of the fact that he made a number of great records. This early 70s effort finds him moving in a more jazzy direction, with supple rhythms underpinning ... LP, Vinyl record album

Rough & Rowdy Ways
Columbia, 2020. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold
The first new Bob Dylan songs in more than a few years – and a great reminder that, even if the man can do a pretty good job with songs from other sources, it's still his core talents as a composer that we love so much! The album's got Bob's wonderfully mature vocals alongside a trio of ... LP, Vinyl record album

Get Happy
Columbia, 1980. Near Mint-
An album with a very mod-looking cover – and a set that's also overflowing with lots of mod-styled tracks to match – a cool current of soul from the 60s, but still handled with the sharper 70s vibe of young Attractions! Bob Dylan

Hard Rain
Columbia, 1976. Near Mint-
A live document of the mid 70s Rolling Thunder Revue era! The best of it recasts classic Dylan songs as well as ones from the then recent Blood On The Tracks as raucous rock & roll tunes, which might've puzzled a lot of longtime fans, critics, and maybe even casual concertgoers at the time, but ... Genius jangle pop from the 60s – great harmonies, tight guitars, and a sound that's familiar but always fresh – the kind of record that should have rivaled bigger hits by The Monkees or Strawberry Alarm Clock!
