This image is a general representation of the item and the actual product may differ slightly in terms of color shading, logo placement, borders, or other small details. Used items may have various cosmetic differences as well.
Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Two late 80's small group sessions – with Bobby Scott on piano, Joe Beck on guitar, Bob Cranshaw or Anthony Jackson on bass, and Grady Tate or Chris Parker on drums. LP, Vinyl record album
Great Verve material from Lionel Hampton – and like most of his sides for the label, a set that offers small combo grooving in a very stretched out setting! Hampton's vibes are set up nicely with a trio that includes Oscar Peterson on piano, Ray Brown on bass, and Buddy Rich on drums. LP, Vinyl record album

A pretty great little album from Lionel – a real funk album, with electric playing, vocals, and a much more soulful feel overall even than his Brunswick records! The set features mostly covers – "I'm So Tired", "Them Changes", "Ain't No Sunshine", "Cal ... LP, Vinyl record album
A great little set of instrumental tracks from Lionel Hampton – almost more soul than jazz, and set to some hipper than usual Brunswick Records arrangements – by the likes of Eugene Record, Willie Henderson, Sonny Sanders, and Hamilton Bohannon! One of these excellent early 50s albums that Hamp cut for Verve – most of which feature him like this, stretching out a lot more than in the early days, working with a small combo of top-line players that each get plenty of room to solo. Players include Buddy Rich, Oscar Peterson, Ray Brown, ... LP, Vinyl record album
Fantastic work from John Klemmer – hard-edged, exploratory, with a mix of spiritualism and soulfulness, and a few touches of easy soloing. Todd Cochran (Bayete) plays Fender Rhodes, Woody Theus is on drums, and Klemmer's got an echoplex hooked up to his tenor on a few cuts. The tracks were ... LP, Vinyl record album
A great counterpart to some of Archie Shepp's studio albums for Impulse – a live date recorded in San Francisco, with a slightly freer, sharper edge! The sound is almost free at times, but always with that strong sense of focus that Archie brought to his brilliant work of the time – ... LP, Vinyl record album
John Coltrane returns to the Village Vanguard – but his sound here is a lot more far-reaching than a few years before! The album's a great counterpart to the first Vanguard session – as it takes all of the bold, soaring energy of that date, and balances it with the newly introspective ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of a rare few albums issued by hip LA vibist Emil Richards as a leader – a hell of a talent who also did a lot of studio work, but one that we really love when he gets a chance to step out front and shine! The set was recorded at Donte's, a very groovy club in the city – and in ... LP, Vinyl record album
Soaring and soulful work from the legendary John Coltrane – a tremendous live set that's one of his best early 60s albums! The groove is open and free – filled with pulsating modal rhythms, and handled with a slightly more relaxed feeling than some of Trane's studio work from the same ... LP, Vinyl record album
A perennial favorite in the John Coltrane catalog – a beautiful set of standards, handled in a warm laidback style – but which still has some of the depth of soul that John Coltrane brought to his more experimental work on Impulse Records! The album's a classic introduction to the ... LP, Vinyl record album
