One of Kid Creole's greatest – a track that bounces along with a mad bassline, grooving in a campy 20's sort of way, but with this old school beat that really makes the cut kick. "Annie" and "Corrupt" are both great groovers too – more proof that August Darnell's a genuis that bears major rediscovery!  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good - (minus)

  • Vinyl may be dirty, and can lack a fair amount of luster.
  • Vinyl can have a number of marks, either in clusters or smaller amounts, but deeper.
  • This is the kind of record that you'd buy to play, but not because it looked that great. Still, the flaws should be mostly cosmetic, with nothing too deep that would ruin the overall record.
  • Examples include a record that has been kept for a while in a cover without the paper sleeve, or heavily played by a previous owner and has some marks across the surface. The record should play okay, though probably with surface noise.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

What can we say? Despite the stupid appearance of the band, "White Horse" was a classic breakdance/electro track that crossed over so big it had kids in Kansas running out to by parachute pants and squares of linoleum to play along with the kids in the Bronx. Funky dancefloor material from the Isleys – pretty guitar-heavy, and not really their best moment, as the soul quotient's a bit low, and they're kind of lost in the grooves. "I Wanna Be" is served up in a disco version, which is really just an extended funker. 12-inch, Vinyl record
Columbia, 1983. Near Mint- (pic cover)
Another bit of electro grooving from Herbie's Future Shock LP – with lots of space age keyboards, and tweaked up electro beats! Bill Laswell produced and plays bass, too. Herbie's classic version of "Chameleon" is presented here in a 14 minute remix – but one that really ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
