Zig-Zagging/I Got To Handle It

7-inch (Item 4442) Karen, Late 60s — Condition: Very Good+

Excellent work from one of the best Detroit groups of the 60s! Both tracks move way past their "Cool Jerk" hit – but still have the same fire and soul of that one. Ollie McLaughlin produced, and the whole thing swings nicely!  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Vinyl has a drillhole through the deadwax.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

One of the greatest singles – ever! "Madison Time" is nothing like other Ray Bryant work from the time – as the cut's a snapping soul jazz dancer with calls by Eddie Morrison, and a really spooky tone. It's got a hard swinging dancefloor style that pushed it way up the ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

An obscure club track on a tiny label from suburban Chicago – pretty sweet overall! "Never Gonna Fall" is a Paul Anka tune, but it's done by Carmen with a soaring disco approach – full strings over percussion, and a nicely understated take on the lyric. "Love The Day ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
