We Did It/Any Way The Wind Blows

7-inch (Item 442980) Hi Records, 1972 — Condition: Very Good+

(Labels have some pen.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Ovation, 1979. Near Mint- (pic cover)
After the Ovation label shut down Black Jazz, this was the kind of stuff they resorted to putting out. Chicago DJ Steve Dahl (the man behind the "Disco Demolition" in the late 70's) hit big on the charts in 1979 with this parody of Rod Stewart's "Do You Think I'm Sexy". 7-inch, Vinyl record

We're definitely not sleeping on this sweet little single – because after Doug Short's first appearance on Cherries Records, we've really been waiting for another record! "Don't Sleep On My Love" is a completely compelling cut – one that's got a great hook that goes way ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

Dubby funk with plenty of Jamaican undertones, but not exactly a reggae set – and instead the sort of wonderful criss-crossing of modes we've come to expect from The Lions! The group definitely owes a lot to the sound of 60s and 70s Kingston – yet their approach is different, too ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
